Cairo/Algiers, July 2025 – A groundbreaking regional initiative, She Leads – Climatic Peace, has been launched to empower young women leaders from across the MENA region to champion climate action and peacebuilding through a feminist lens. The program, hosted in Cairo and Algiers, combines in-person and online phases, bringing together diverse participants and expert speakers from nine countries.
The fellowship addresses the urgent intersection of climate change, gender equality, and peace, highlighting women’s vital role in driving innovative solutions to environmental and social challenges. Through interactive workshops, storytelling sessions, policy dialogues, and project-design labs, participants will explore themes such as eco-feminism, gender-responsive climate adaptation, and women-led community resilience.
The initiative also provides mentorship opportunities, practical leadership skills, and cross-border networking, ensuring that participants are not only inspired but also equipped to design and implement impactful projects in their communities.
By amplifying women’s voices and fostering collaboration across borders, She Leads – Climatic Peace aims to build a generation of leaders who will shape inclusive climate policies and peacebuilding strategies in the region.
This program reaffirms the importance of youth-driven, women-led solutions in tackling today’s most pressing global challenges.
