We are excited to announce the official launch of the Climate Action and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Fellowship Program, a transformative 12-week journey designed to empower 150β200 young changemakers across the Arab States.
As climate challenges and disaster risks escalate in the region, this hybrid fellowship stands as a bold call to action for youth-driven solutions. Through immersive learning, real-world innovation labs, and hands-on community engagement, the program equips young leaders with the tools and resources to build a resilient, sustainable future.

Open to young leaders who:

Are aged 18 to 30 years

Reside in any Arab State

Have a strong interest or experience in climate action, disaster risk reduction (DRR), or community development

Come from diverse fields including environmental science, technology, business, engineering, and social sciences

Demonstrate motivation to address climate challenges in their communities

Possess or are willing to develop skills in project management, innovation, and community engagement
Special consideration will be given to applicants from regions highly vulnerable to climate change or disasters.

Youth-led NGOs, student groups, social enterprises, or informal collectives

Teams proposing original ideas at the intersection of climate action and DRR

Groups not currently receiving support from any existing grants or fellowships
Each team must designate a primary applicant who meets the individual criteria.

How are the best projects selected for funding support?
During the Hackathon phase, projects will be evaluated by an expert panel based on criteria such as innovation, impact, feasibility, scalability, and community relevance. Top-performing projects will be selected for seed or pre-seed funding.
Will participants receive funding to attend the Hackathon?
Yes. The Hackathon will be held offline, and selected participants will receive support to attend. Some participants will be fully funded, covering travel, accommodation, and meals, while others may receive partial funding depending on the selection and available resources. Final details will be communicated upon selection.
Will participants receive a certificate after completing the program?
Yes, participants who successfully complete all phases of the fellowship will receive a certificate of completion.
Is there any cost to participate in the program?
No, the program is free of charge for selected participants. Training, mentorship, and materials are all provided at no cost.
What is the format of the training?
A hybrid format will be used. Foundational training will be conducted online through live webinars, self-paced modules, and interactive sessions. The Hackathon will be held in-person (offline).
