The Climate Voices South Mediterranean Climate Communication Initiative wrapped up its digital campaign in July 2026, building the first regional network of Arabic-speaking youth climate communicators across nine countries: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, and Tunisia.
Over 200 young participants completed hands-on training in climate storytelling, digital content creation, and misinformation verification, then produced their first original Arabic climate content at in-person national camps held in each country.
The program’s regional digital campaign reached more than 600,000 people through 70+ reels and carousel posts, documenting climate realities across 45+ cities and nine key climate topics — from water scarcity to coastal erosion to climate migration.
The initiative culminated in the Cairo Regional Summit (17–18 July 2026), held under the patronage of the League of Arab States, where 42 youth delegates from all nine countries co-drafted and ratified the Manifesto for Ethical Climate Communication in Arabic Media and launched the South Mediterranean Youth Climate Media Network.
