Promoting gender equality in job recommended systems project

This project in Algeria addressed gender bias in job recommender systems through a multi-faceted approach. Researchers gathered evidence of bias, analyzed its impacts on women’s opportunities, and engaged key stakeholders to develop solutions. Activities included surveys, data analysis, developer workshops, civil society forums, and meetings with the Higher Council of Youth. By combining research, capacity building, and collaboration, the project sought to promote fair and inclusive AI-powered job recommendations in Algeria. The program was carried out over the course of one week in August 2024, demonstrating a concerted effort to tackle this important issue in the country
